Notification on the Implementation of Prakas on the Determination of the Calculation Base for the Registration Tax on the Transfer of Ownership or Occupancy Right over Immovable Property

        On March 26, 2019, the General Department of Taxation (GDT) issued a notification as follows:

        In accordance with Prakas No. 343 សហវ.ប្រក dated March 22, 2019, which was issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the Determination of a Calculation Base for Registration Tax on the Transfer of Ownership or Occupancy Right over Immovable Property as well as the Annex on the Geographical Division and the Value of Immovable Property as a Calculation Base for Registration Tax in the Capital/Province dated March 22, 2019, the GDT would like to inform all owners of immovable property that the collection of registration tax on the transfer of ownership or occupancy right over immovable property shall follow the price of this newly revised Annex, and shall begin from July 01, 2019 onward. The geographical division and value of immovable property, which was updated for the above purpose, can be accessed and downloaded from the website of the GDT (www.tax.gov.kh).

     Further, in order to obtain the implementation of the value of the immovable property as a base calculation registration tax which is in effect, immovable property with ownership or occupancy right has been transferred but with the registration taxes yet to be declared, shall immediately proceed with the tax declaration before July 01, 2019 at the GDT or a Provincial Tax Branch where such property is located. The GDT is not responsible for any delay.
